Southern-born Susan Irby takes a healthy approach to her native Southern cuisine where “bikini cooking” all began and has transformed that to everyday healthy recipes for individuals and families. “I’ve always loved to cook. I get it from my mother,” shares The Bikini Chef. “Water skiing til dusk on Lake Martin, Alabama, our family would end up cooking and dining in our bathing suits… bikini cooking was born!” Bikini cooking is a healthy approach to cooking through using fresh ingredients like cilantro, basil, mint and other herbs, tangy citrus flavors, and lean proteins like salmon served with fresh vegetables such as red bell peppers, kale, and arugula greens. “I’ve always taken a healthy approach in my cooking classes, and once students learned about healthy recipes and “bikini cooking”, they knicknamed me The Bikini Chef!”, reflects Irby, The Bikini Chef for over 12 years.  The Bikini Chef name stuck and became the foundation for Irby’s healthy recipes and everything-in-moderation lifestyle which includes regular workouts like running and yoga.
